Sporting KC U-15s and U-19s prevail over perennial powers FC Dallas

The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-19s continued their strong start to the 2018-19 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season on Saturday with a second straight win, while the Sporting KC Academy U-15s earned an emphatic 5-1 victory during a tripleheader against perennial DA powers FC Dallas at Children's Mercy Victory Field in Swope Soccer Village.

U-19s: Sporting KC 2, FC Dallas 1

After Enzo Mauriz opened the scoring in the 40th minute with his first goal since joining the Sporting KC Academy for the 2018-19 season, Abdu Kikhia struck for the second straight week in the 57th minute with what proved to be the game-winner when FC Dallas spoiled the shutout with an 89th-minute consolation goal from Johan Gomez.

U-17s: FC Dallas 7, Sporting KC 0

The FC Dallas U-17s opened their Development Academy season in impressive fashion with a 7-0 road win, striking for all seven goals between the 25th and 56th minutes. Ricardo Pepi, who has been selected to both U.S. and Mexico youth national team training camps this year, scored four times, while David Rodriguez bagged a brace to go along with a goal from Diego Maynez.

U-15s: Sporting KC 5, FC Dallas 1

The U15s opened the day with a resounding 5-1 triumph, led by a two-goal performance from Gage Akalu. Sporting KC Academy newcomer Rokus Pukstas scored in his second straight game, while fellow U.S. U-15 Boys' National Teamer Osvaldo Cisneros scored the game-winning goal on a free kick and Dalton Visconti added his name to the scoresheet with a goal in the second half.

The Sporting KC Academy U-15s, U-17s and U-19s will travel to Texas this weekend to take on Texans SC Houston on Saturday at Burroughs Park in Tomball, followed by a tripleheader on Sunday against Houston Dynamo Youth in The Woodlands. Follow @SKCAcademy on Twitter for live updates from all six games and throughout the season.
