Three Sporting Kansas City Academy teamed delivered strong performances this weekend at the 2020 US Youth Futsal National Championships, held at multiple indoor venues across the Kansas City area.

Crowned US Youth Futsal Central Regional champions last month, the Sporting KC U-14s finished atop their group and claimed a semifinal win on Sunday night before falling in today's national championship at New Century Fieldhouse in New Century, Kansas. Head coach Declan Jogi's side posted three group stage victories and defeated Rising Ballers in the semis to set up a national title clash with Michigan-based ABK Academy, which took the trophy with a 3-0 result.

Following in the footsteps of the U-14s, the Sporting KC U-13s and U-12s also earned first-place finishes in their respective groups by going 3-0-0. The U-13s outscored their group stage opponents 29-4 prior to taking a narrow 5-3 semifinal loss to TSC Futsal Academy from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Similarly, the U-12s bagged 26 goals and conceded just three in the group stage, but their run ended with a 4-3 semifinal setback to STL Futsal of St. Louis.
